Demonstration Volume Overflow

Object: To find out the volume of a solid, which has an irregular shape.

Materials: small piece of rock, overflow container, water, beaker, graduated cylinder.

Method: The materials were set up as shown in the diagram. Water was poured into the overflow container to the lower level of the spout. A small piece of rock was added. The water was seen to rise and flowed out the spout. The water captured in the beaker was measured in the graduated cylinder as 41 ml.

Conclusion: It was learned that the formula for volume is not always necessary.
