Science Lab Experiment: Solutions
Object: To show that solutions are clear and allow light to pass through.
To show that the amount of solute in a solution can be changed.
To show that the solute does not settle out on standing.
Materials: copper solute, potassium dichromate, water and beakers
Method: Add a few grains of each material to water in separate beakers.
Observe. Add more material and observe again.
Observations: Colours are formed. Light passes through the solutions.
The solute does not settle out on standing.
Conclusions: It was learned that true solutions were formed.
